Yuletide is a yearly fic exchange for rare/uncommon fandoms. You can enter up to four fandom/pairing or character requests, and the stories are revealed on Christmas. This year, for the first time (as far as I know), So Weird is on the list of fandoms for which you can offer to write a story or request someone to write a story for you. So if you're (still) interested in reading and/or writing a So Weird fic, go sign up! Signups end at 9 p.m. Eastern time/6 p.m. Pacific time Thursday, November 12 (a.k.a. this Thursday). More information is available here.

(crossposted: sorry if you got it twice!)

Well, it's been a busy year. I graduated from law school in New York, moved back to California, started working full-time, took the lawyers' ethics test, started working part-time, studied for and took the bar exam, and started working full-time again. So here are the latest challenges from me:

1. There are 38 people in this community. Who are you? Where did you come from? How did you find us? What are you looking for? Obviously, you liked the show enough to be interested. Why? Did you watch it when you were a kid, or, like me, did you watch it with a kid? Who's your favorite character? Who's your least favorite character? What pairings do you like? What pairings do you hate? Why? What other fandoms are you into? Post your answers in a comment to this post or in a separate introductory post, whatever floats your boat.

2. Write! 5 words. 50 words. 500 words. 5000. Something, anything. A start.

New challenge!

I am not the most observant community-overseer, so I really didn't notice that there are rather a lot of members now (maybe not for most fandoms, but certainly for this one). Based on the general lack of posting activity, it appears that most of you are readers rather than writers, which is cool. Based on the general lack of feedback posted for the rare fic that is posted here, it appears that you're not finding the kind of So Weird stories you want to read. Therefore, the following challenge is for you, dear readers:

Five Things

Comment to this post with a "five things" you'd like to read. If you haven't seen this in other fandoms, it's usually in the form of "five things that never happened to [character]." One explanation is as follows: "the idea is to write five short drabbles that each explore things that could have happened to a character, but didn't. They can go together or be independent; they can be [in an alternate universe] or skim very close to canon."

You could also take that idea and spin it in a different direction, i.e.: "Five reasons Fi never came home" or "Five pictures Jack didn't take" or "Five times Annie almost died." You can add on to it: "Five secrets Carey never told Clu (and one thing he did)" or "Five times Ned almost crashed the bus (and one time he did)."

And then maybe someone will write it for you.

Feel free to post your comment anonymously!

As always, all previous challenges remain open.

Title: Long Ride Home
Fandoms: Supernatural/So Weird
Author: ologyist AKA casino_lily
Words: 1,036
Pairing: Dean/Fi
Rating: Meh, PG. Ish. PG-12?
Warnings: Profanity (more f-words than is appropriate for PG, methinks), light violence, slight adult situations.
Summary: A crossover fic written under the assumption that Fi (and the gang) have aged appropriately since So Weird ended, and essentially just imagines what the interaction between Fi and the Winchester brothers might be like. (It’s my first fiction for both shows, as well as being my first in… um, two years? So it’s not very good, but I figured I’d post it anyway.) Familiarity with either show is not compulsory, but it might help a little.

When they leave town, there’s no sign of her. He doesn’t know yet if he prefers it that way.Collapse )
